The Rule of Saint Benedict

Benedict's sixth-century rule for monks, setting out the abbot's authority, obedience, silence and humility, the order of the Divine Office, discipline, work, reading, hospitality and the life of the monastery, in Ernest F. Henderson's 1892 translation. Henderson omits the lists of psalms and some runs of scriptural quotation, as his notes indicate.
